43° parallelo, a dream holiday

Setting sail to sea to discover stunning bays or famous locations while enjoying the privacy of an exclusive environment is the dream vacation of every passionate sailor. Maria Grazia Zuliani, founder and partner of 43° Parallelo together with her partner Dario Zana, tells us about the service that they provide at the Marina di Scarlino.

Hi Maria Grazia, how was the “43° Parallelo” project born?
We have found the company in 1993 on Lake Garda to combine Dario’s passion for sailing with my interest in the tourism sector.

In 2001, we developed the business: after various searches, we moved from the lake to the Tuscan sea, an area in great demand by the market and much loved by Germans. We’ve fallen in love with the Marina di Scarlino. It was the ideal place, indeed: beautiful venue and strategic position. Since 2011, with the opening of the Galleria, we also moved the office from Garda to the Marina, together with our entire fleet.

We have almost 30 years of experience in both the sale and rental of sailboats, as well as in the assistance service. We can proudly say that we have gained an excellent reputation abroad as well. Customers appreciate our professionalism, competence and passion.

How can 43° Parallel help me?
We are exclusive dealers of Jeanneau, the prestigious French shipyards, for Tuscany, Liguria di Levante and Sardinia. Moreover, we are Excess catamarans dealers for Italy.
We have a charter fleet of 12 Jeanneau monohulls from 34 ‘to 51’. Each boat is well-equipped. The customer finds everything he/she needs to enjoy life onboard: sheets, pillows, equipped kitchen, tender, inverter, etc.

We have been the first to equip boats with solar panels in Italy. In addition to sustainability factors, it is important for us to guarantee enough energy autonomy to our customers. In fact, they prefer to spend the night at anchor instead of in port.

Upon request, we can provide car parking within the Marina, as well as – among other things – SUP and Gennaker or Code 0. Those are sails suitable also for light winds. The rental is on a weekly basis. We can also evaluate requests for shorter periods, but in the high season the confirmation is given last minute. Reservations arrive a year in advance. Some customers rely on us every summer.

The basic requirement to take a boat is to have a boat licence. Based on the client’s sailing curriculum, we recommend itineraries. The most common, especially for those who come here for the first time, is the tour of the Tuscan Archipelago, above all Capraia and Elba islands. Someone arrives even in Corsica and Sardinia.

We guarantee a 24/7 assistance. After the check-in, we create a private chat with customers to stay in touch. We also share the contact person’s number with them. We then have trusted technicians in the various destinations who, if necessary, can make interventions on board. I would like to add that our boats are subjected to careful maintenance every winter.

We offer on lease all the models produced by Jeanneau. Many customers, who have personally experienced the elegance, safety and perfection of these boats, then decide to buy their own model through our company. We also sell used boats. The sale of sailboats has a growing trend, indeed.

We can organize private salons to allow customers to take a tour on board, as well as test rides. We also sell accessories, awnings or electronic components for example, and we take care of maintenance work on private boats.
